Tips and questions
Can I freeze chili con carne?
Yes, it freezes very well for up to 3 months. It also keeps 4 days in the fridge and tastes better the next day.
How do I make it less spicy?
Halve the chilli powder and add more sweet paprika for colour. If it’s already too hot, serve it with sour cream or grated cheese.
Can I make a vegetarian version?
Replace the beef with an extra can of beans plus lentils or textured soy, and use vegetable stock.
