Tips and questions
Should I rub or grate the tomato?
Rubbing a halved tomato on the toast is the traditional way; grating it is easier for a crowd and gives a more even layer.
What goes first, oil or tomato?
Tomato first, then salt and a generous drizzle of olive oil, so the oil sits on top instead of soaking straight into the bread.
